New York City and New York State are now working together to get veterans and their families the federal benefits they’ve earned, by partnering to process VA claims for disability compensation, GI Bill benefits, and service-connected pensions.
The New York State Division of Veterans’ Services (NYS DVS) trained and accredited staff members from the New York City Department of Veterans’ Services to process Veterans Affairs (VA) claims. The two veteran agencies furthered their partnership and will now work together to process claims for disability compensation, G.I. Bill benefits, and non-service-connected pension. “Processing claims acknowledges the sacrifice veterans made for their country.” - DVS Commissioner James Hendon
