Important Tips for Coronavirus Prevention

With the ongoing state of emergency regarding the COVID-19 Coronavirus outbreak, your safety is our priority. It's important that everyone takes the necessary precautions to ensure the safety of themselves and their loved ones.

The CDC recommends these everyday preventive actions to help prevent the spread of respiratory diseases, including:
  • Avoid close contact with other people. Six feet of distance is the current recommendation.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
  • Clean & disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or disinfectant wipe.
  • CDC does not recommend that people who are well wear a face mask to protect themselves, only those who are sick.
  • Avoid crowded areas or events.
  • Consider the supplies you might require, should you need to be quarantined. Supplies should include over-the-counter cold/flu remedies, staples with a longer shelf-life (think dried beans, rice, pasta, Parmalat milk), and frozen foods (don’t forget frozen fruits and vegetables!). We also tucked away a stash of nitrate-free bacon for multiple uses.
  • Wash your hands often with soap & water for at least 20 seconds. Use hand sanitizer (at least 70% alcohol).
    • Insider tip: singing the alphabet while washing your hands is enough time!
